Under Construction

Isn't that the story of our lives? Everything is "Under Construction". Well In celebration of Utah roads being under construction I decided to put my blog under construction. I didn't plan for it to be a long process but---- It's going to take me a little while. So bear with me!!! Oh yeah --- I lost my blog list --- hopefully I will get that figured out here in a little while.

I love Texas Roadhouse!!

We have been eating at Texas Roadhouse a lot lately!! Have you ever been there? When you sit down they serve you the HOTTEST YUMMIEST ROLLS. Since I really started getting into baking my own bread products lately I have been on the search for the Texas Roadhouse Roll Recipe. I think I found it! Well it's pretty darn close. I made them yesterday. I served them HOT right from the oven basted with salted butter. They are so yummy it's what the kids wanted for breakfast today. This recipe would also make excellent Cinnamon Rolls!!

TEXAS ROAD HOUSE SWEET YEAST ROLLS -
From the trainer for all the bakers of the Texas Roadhouse chain (so they say)

1/2 sol. oz. cake of yeast or 1 pkg. active dry yeast (next time I think I will use 1 1/2 packets)
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups milk- scalded and cooled to lukewarm
3 tablespoons of melted butter - cooled
1/2 cup sugar
2 quart all purpose flour --
2 whole eggs
2 tsp. salt

Soften yeast in warm water with a teaspoon of sugar.

Add yeast, milk, sugar and enough flour to make a medium batter. Beat thoroughly. Let stand until light and foamy.

Add melted butter, eggs and salt. Beat well. Add enough flour to form soft dough. Sprinkle small amount of flour on counter and let dough rest.

Meanwhile, clean and dry bowl; grease clean surface of bow. Knead dough until smooth and satiny. Put in greased bowl; turn over to grease top. Cover; let rise in warm place until double in bulk.

Punch down. Turn out on floured board. Divide into portions for shaping; let rest 10 minutes.

Shape dough into desired forms. Place on greased baking sheets. Let rise until doubled.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-15 minutes (until golden brown). Baste immediately with butter

Yield: 5 to 6 dozen (depending on the size - I made mine kind of big and got about 3 dozen)

Stay tuned for the recipe for their RANCH DRESSING!!! YUMMO!!

The Wallies Lasted 2 Days!!!

I posted on Friday about my little man's bedroom and wondering how long he would leave the Wallies on. Well as of yesterday --- 2 Firetrucks, 1 Ambulance, and 1 police car have crashed and burned!!! On to plan B --- if I had a plan B.

The Summer Plan.....

I need a plan!! I need an organizational plan to get things done this summer, to get my kids involved, and to teach Mic about lower case letters before she starts Kindergarten in August. Do any of you have suggestions for the lower case letter thing? She totally does not get it!!
I found a cute chore chart at Happy2B@Home that I plan to implement at a "Family Meeting" tonight.

Is it bad?

Is it bad that my Blog List keeps growing?? There are too many of you great bloggers out there - and I don't want to miss a thing.
Is it bad that my main way of communicating with 2 friends, that each live a street away from me, is through blogs and emails?

Army Wives!!!

Have you seen this show?? I love it! I think that all wives - no matter what our husbands do for their careers can relate to this show. I know how hard it is for my me to have my husband at work for just 24 hours at the firestation. My heart totally goes out to those of you whose husbands/wives are deployed in the military.
If you haven't seen this show - you really should watch it!!! The Season 2 Premier is Sunday Night on Lifetime - if you don't have lifetime or you want to catch up with Season 1 there are full episodes and recaps on Lifetime's Website. It also was interesting to see John McCain and Barack Obama speak about Army Wives.

THANK YOU MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY AND THERE FAMILIES FOR THE SACRIFICE THAT YOU ARE MAKING FOR OUR COUNTY!! GOD BLESS AMERICA - LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE.

I need help!!!!

I keep changing my blog theme because I just can't figure out a way to make it SUPER CUTE!!! I really need professional help (for many things in my life) for my blog!!! Don't you all wish you had something cute to look at when you come here? I really want to win a free blog design from Eight Crazy Design!!!

The vinyl on my walls

I just wanted to tell everyone where I get the vinyl lettering on my walls. I have had a few emails about it. I have a good friend that I buy it from Letters And Crafts she has lots of fun ideas on her website and if you want to make changes to something or have something custom made she can do that too!! Give it a try!! PS---- she makes really cute "No Solicitors" signs!!!

Little Man's Bedroom

This morning instead of getting dressed or taking a shower I decided to try to finish decorating the kids new bedrooms. Mic's is still a work in progress hopefully I will be ready to post some photos next week. Caleb's turned out cute. He loves it!! Now we'll just have to see how long he leaves the Wallies on. He also really loves his new bed. The transition was so smooth, he still hasn't figured out that he could actually get out of the bed himself.... shhh don't tell him!!
