General Mills announced a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals advertised to kids under 12 to single digit grams of sugar per serving. The company has already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain.
Did you know that ready-to-eat cereal eaters consume less fat, less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters? Cereals also deliver important vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients, making cereal a top source of key nutrients in children’s diets.
Other cereal benefits:
* Ready-to-eat cereals, including presweetened cereals, account for only 5% of sugar in children’s diets.
* Ready-to-eat cereal is the No. 1 source of whole grains in a child’s diet today.
* More frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights and lower Body Mass Index measures.
Studies also demonstrate the benefits of eating breakfast. A 1998 study showed that children who eat breakfast tend to perform better at school. Compared to children who skip breakfast, children who eat breakfast score higher on tests, are less likely to miss class or be tardy, have fewer reported discipline problems, and make fewer trips to the office.
For more information about kids and cereals, please visit Cereal Health and Wellness.
Right now if you visit here you will find a $1 off coupon for one of four General Mills cereals.
**This information was provided to me by General Mills through Blog Spark. I was not paid money for this post. I did receive 4 free boxes of General Mills cereal.

Socked in the haze.....
I was out taking some photos for my 365 Project today and I wandered up Farmington Canyon a bit. It is very interesting to get above this haze that is enveloping us. You can barely see Lagoon.

One of my most popular posts!! How to peel a grapefruit...ETA
I have noticed LOTS of people have been reading my post on how to peel a grapefruit. I decided to re-post it for anyone that may have missed it.
"I love grapefruit but I have also been annoyed by how much I have felt was wasted in the way that I have always ate them. In my family growing up we always just cut them in half and scooped out what we could with a spoon. I think my grandma even had special little spoons that the had jagged edges.
So I set out to find a way to not waste any edible part of a grapefruit. Maybe everyone else already knew how to do this --- but I want to share anyway.
Put a pan of water on to boil. When the water is boiling remove the pan from the heat source and put your unpeeled grapefruit in the water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Carefully remove the fruit from the water and as soon as you can touch it begin to peel. You will be able to easily removed the thick white stuff... I don't know what it is called. Once you have that removed you will be able to easily break apart each section and remove all of the section casings.
I cannot believe how easy this was! Oh yeah and the inside of the fruit really doesn't get hot when you do this."

Funny things you "have" to type.....
So you know the little text boxes were you have to type in the words to verify something before you post? Well I have seen some pretty funny words to type in but today I was posting on my cousin's brand new blog and the word I had to enter was "FARTMAN". Seriously who comes up with these things? I imagine this one to have been designed by a woman who cooked a fiberous meal for her husband.
What are some funny ones you have seen?
